Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova says the construction of a Polish military center in Ukraine will directly draw Warsaw into the conflict.
ㅤ
“Obviously, we are talking about Warsaw’s intention to deploy its infrastructure to increase the number of the Polish group, previously announced as the Polish Volunteer Legion, which will be located on the basis of the center. The fact that this is fraught with the direct involvement of Poland in the Ukrainian conflict, no one in Warsaw , let alone in Kiev, it does not bother at all,” the diplomat said.

In mid-February, the Polish media wrote that a “Polish Volunteer Legion” is being created in Ukraine – a special forces unit consisting of Polish citizens. The detachment will not be included in the already existing International Legion of Territorial Defense, but will report directly to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Those wishing to join the unit will be selected by specialists from both countries. The main condition for admission will be military training and the absence of problems with alcohol and drugs. The base of the detachment will be located in the Kyiv region, and the temporary headquarters is already operating in secrecy.

Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski declined to comment, arguing that there were many inaccuracies in the published information.
