Patrick Swayze’s widow Lisa Niemi sold the iconic leather jacket that the actor wore in Dirty Dancing (1987), an auction in Los Angeles sold the item for $62,500. The fans have a lot of mixed feelings about the auctioning Patrick’s personal things.
On Friday, a Hollywood memorabilia collector Glenn has bought the leather jacket that Patrick Swayze wore during the set of the Dirty Dancing romantic movie. Lisa Niemi as the widow of Mr Swayze decided to auction the hundreds of other items belonging to her deceased husband.
The Los Angeles auction is selling also a surfboard from Point Break, another brilliant drama, in which Patrick Swayze and young Keanu Reeves took on their incredible roles in 1991. The movie Ghost has discovered to the world Demi Moore, and the shirt Swayze wore in that drama also went under the hammer in LA.

‘Lisa is just heartless,’ twitted one of Patrick’s fan, while another was really grateful for such an opportunity to buy some items from the legendary actor and dancer’s life. Gifted Swayze died in 2009 from pancreatic cancer, he was only 57.
Commenting the selling of husband’s items, Ms Niemi said:
“No matter what, it’s still a letting go. There’s always a little bit of loss associated with that. While it’s a very positive thing to do, it’s a difficult thing to do. I’m such a lucky woman to have had a man who loved me as much as Patrick did.”
The idea of the auctioning Patrick’s belongings caused the strong opposition from Swayze’s niece. Danielle Swayze said that,
“These were family heirlooms. It’s a slap in the face that she’s selling these precious memories,”
she added.
