Iran is exercising its right to respond to an Israeli strike on its territory; the decision on the method and circumstances of the response will be made by the competent leadership of the armed forces, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai said.

On the night of October 26, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it would carry out strikes on military targets in Iran as part of its response to the attacks on the Jewish state on October 1. CBS News, citing a source, reported that the Israeli attack on Iran was limited to military targets and did not extend to nuclear or oil facilities. According to IRNA, none of Iran’s oil industry facilities were damaged. Iranian media reported the death of four soldiers.

“It is clear to everyone that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not shy away from (exercising) its right to respond to the aggression of the Israeli regime… We are determined and serious about our response, (which will be carried out) in an appropriate manner and in the circumstances on which we decide ourselves and the competent leadership of our armed forces,” Bagai said during a weekly press conference.
