Alicia Vikander will be the great reincarnation of Lara Croft, according to the recent buzz, the Swedish actress will play in the upcoming Tomb Raider will focus young Lara Croft. The movie will focus on the early Lara’s life as an explorer.
Alicia Vikander opens up about the ‘new’ Lara Croft, the director of the anticipated movie is going to focus on the early life of the attractive and brave character. Moreover, the live-action movie will be a reboot of the first and second instalments of the series.
According to the producer Graham King, a new story with Alicia Vikander as Lara is a ‘back to the roots story’, which tells us a lot of interesting about young Lara. The character is searching for her father and trying to uncover if he is still alive. Because of this, King stated that there will be ‘a very emotional part’ in the plot. Undoubtedly, Alicia will cope with these tasks brilliantly!
The producer added that the storytelling is ‘really good’ and Vikander finds it ‘interesting.’ Mr King expressed his excitement for the film and that it has the right crew and a great director Roar Uthaug. The latter said he wanted the current plot to focus on the game’s reboot. Mr Uthaug mentioned how he wants to make Lara in the movie to feel like a real human being:
‘I’m hoping to bring some of my Norwegian sensibilities to the franchise.’
Alicia Vikander noted how the film will pass the Bechdel test, that supposedly identifies whether a movie is sexist or not. As Ms Vikander noted:
‘It’s the story of her becoming who we know her as.’
Traditionally, Lara Croft is noticeable for her abundance in a department where Alicia Vikander is noticeable for her scarcity. I wonder whether this is will be fixed with prosthetics and/or CGI, or whether the new Lara Croft is slated to be less exuberant.
