The Houthis attacked an American aircraft carrier.

The ruling Shiite military-political movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) in northern Yemen said it attacked the US aircraft carrier Harry Truman with cruise missiles and UAVs.

“During a joint operation of naval forces, missile forces and unmanned troops <…> a large number of drones and cruise missiles struck the American aircraft carrier Harry Truman at a time when American troops were preparing for a large-scale air attack on our country,”  Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saria said.

He emphasized that this strike managed to thwart the impending US attack.

The Ansar Allah movement, which controls most of Yemen’s Red Sea coast, began attacking Israeli-linked ships and launching missile and drone strikes into the Jewish state following the escalation of the Middle East conflict.

The Houthis explain their actions as helping the Palestinians and say they are not interfering with freedom of navigation in the region.

In turn, the United States, Great Britain and Israel began to regularly launch attacks on Yemen.
