The head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Michael Kurilla, met in Israel with the country’s Defense Minister Israel Katz and a number of military commanders of the Jewish state, CENTCOM reports.

“General Kurilla visited Israel on December 11-13 at the invitation of the Israeli Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi. In addition to meeting with Lieutenant General Halevi and his staff, General Kurilla met with Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, Commander of Israel’s Northern Military District, Major General Ori Gordin and the commander of the Israeli Air Force, Major General Tomer Bar,” the command wrote on its account on the social network X.

According to CENTCOM, they discussed a number of regional security issues, including the current situation in Syria and preparedness for other strategic and regional threats. It is noted that Kurilla visited the headquarters of the Northern Command to “deeper understand” the current situation in Lebanon, and the air base of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). In addition, the command reports that during the meeting Kurilla was informed “about the unique capabilities” of the Israeli army and confirmed the “unshakable” military partnership between the United States and Israel.
