The National Rifle Association (NRA) said that the small donors – people who gave less than $200 each – helped Association to break the 15-year fundraising record. This time, the majority of donations, $1.9 million, were raised by small donors, the ordinary American citizens who don’t want to forget the tragic Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, Fox News reported.
The NRA’s annual convention will be held May 3-6 in Dallas, with Vice President Mike Pence listed among the event’s scheduled speakers. Donald Trump spoke at the group’s convention last year in Atlanta, and this year, an Association broke a 15-year fundraising record in March with a total of $2.4 million being donated to it.
Meantime, the political fund of NRA is seeing an increase in funds following a shooting isn’t entirely unfounded, either. In the two months after the 2013 Sandy Hook shooting, the organization reportedly raised $1.1 million and $1.5 million. Too many shooting, too many reasons to be nervous for everyone, that is why the ordinary Americans donate to NRA. Surprisingly, but a lot of people who aren’t interested in guns but joined the NRA because of what they’ve been seeing from liberals.
Despite the NRA is not a civil rights organization as Ted Deutch noted in his recent tweet, an Association has a great impact on society. Last month, Deutch’s met with the families of victims and survivors dozens of times, and he’s also devising a political game plan that turns upset parents and students across the country into single-issue voters capable of changing elections.
