The head of the Politburo of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed in an attack on the place where he was staying overnight in Tehran, Al-Arabiya TV channel claims, citing its own sources.

“Sources claim that Haniyeh was killed in the place where he spent the night in Tehran… He was killed at 2.00 local time as a result of a direct missile hit,” the report said.

On Wednesday, the Palestinian Hamas movement reported the death of Haniyeh as a result of an Israeli strike on his residence in the Iranian capital.

According to the movement’s statement, Haniyeh was killed as a result of an Israeli “raid” on his residence in Tehran after his participation in the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president.
