Facebook is no longer the social media platform of choice for users between the ages of 13-17, the US teens prefers images, videos, not text, concluded a new Pew Research Center survey, which surveyed nearly 750 teens in one month earlier this year.
According to a statistical survey, the number of users in that age range using Facebook has dropped to 51 percent, compared to 71 percent in a 2014-2015 survey. At the same time, YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat are the top choice for teens (85 percent, 72 percent and 69 percent respectively), which allows to draw a simple conclusion – Facebook lost its popularity.
In 2015, American teens were happy with FB when only about half of teens used Instagram and 41 percent said they used Snapchat.
In 2018, the young people use the platforms everywhere from their smartphones, 95 percent of teenagers now own a smartphone, which makes the online 24/7 presence quit easy. in fact, teens are living on internet but they have mixed feelings about whether that’s a good or bad thing, a study reveals. A plurality (45 percent) said social media usage had neither a positive or negative affect on their lives, while 31 reported the impact was mostly positive and 24 percent said it was mostly negative.
Mark Zuckerberg’s social network is losing its popularity but we shouldn’t forget that Facebook was the first platform showed people the advantages of adding the friends.
