French politician says the country is on the verge of civil war.

The unrest in France can be regarded as the threshold of a civil, ethnic and racial war, former presidential candidate Eric Zemmour said on the Europe-1 TV channel.

“The civil war is a clash between the population and the authorities, exactly what is happening now,” he said.

Zemmour sees the reason for what is happening in the migration policy of France. In addition, in his opinion, the police are now under excessive pressure. They were ordered not to engage in combat, as this could lead to casualties, which would lead to even more uncontrolled riots, the politician explained.

He also noted that although the murder of a teenager is unforgivable (providing that the court has not yet issued a verdict on this matter), the 17-year-old victim already had many previous convictions. According to Europe 1, in just two years, the deceased was mentioned 15 times in the file of criminal cases and was prosecuted five times for refusing to comply.

Riots have been going on in France for several days. They began after the police shot and killed a 17-year-old teenager on the morning of June 27 while checking on a road in Nanterre, a suburb of Paris.

According to law enforcement officers, the young man refused to comply with their demands. As a result, protests swept the whole country: young people set fire to cars, buildings of the police and local authorities, rob banks and shops. In some areas, special forces had to be deployed, armored vehicles and helicopters were used.
