The current President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has been nominated as a candidate for the post of head of state in early elections, Tahir Budagov, deputy chairman and head of the central apparatus of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, told reporters.

“The candidate of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party in the early presidential elections on February 7, 2024 will be Ilham Aliyev. The party’s board is going to finalize the action plan in connection with the early presidential elections. The meeting time will be announced in the coming days,” he said.
