Hillary Clinton blames Comey letters for election defeat

Hillary Clinton blames Comey letters for election defeat

Hillary Clinton blames FBI director James Comey for the defeat in the recent US 2016 presidential election. The Democratic nominee sent two letters to Congress, she described the degree of Comey’s letters’ impact oh her campaign.

Hillary Clinton lost in the US presidential race, according to her comments, she blames for defeat FBI’s chief. Mr Comey and publication of her emails ruined the most important–last–phase of Clinton’s race, she suggests.

Hillary Clinton made the comments on November 11, in a call with donors who gave more than $100,000 to her ‘Stronger together’. The New York Times quoted a donor as saying Clinton said:

“There are lots of reasons why an election like this is not successful … our analysis is that Comey’s letter raising doubts that were groundless, baseless, proven to be, stopped our momentum.”

Javier Palomarez, CEO of the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) was really angry with Clinton’s defeat. He told the Guardian that Mrs Clinton’s neglect of Latino voters that handed the presidency to Trump. Not only Hispanic population but every Hillary’s voter feels not good after her defeat.

FBI’s Comey started another phase of an investigation on Clinton’s email 11 days before the vote. She blames now Mr Comey for US presidential race defeat. The second Comey’s letter followed the first last Sunday, two days before the election.

Navin Nayak, Clinton’s head of opinion research, commented current situation:

“We believe that we lost this election in the last week. Comey’s letter in the last 11 days of the election both helped depress our turnout and also drove away some of our critical support among college-educated white voters – particularly in the suburbs.

“We also think Comey’s [second] letter, which was intended to absolve [Secretary] Clinton, actually helped to bolster Trump’s turnout.”
