British Home Secretary approves Assange’s extradition to US

The message says that British Home Secretary Priti Patel has approved the extradition of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the United States, where he faces 175 years in prison.

“The Minister of the Interior approved the extradition of … Julian Assange to the United States, where he faces 175 years in prison,” the message says.According to Patel, the organization called this decision a “dark day” for freedom of speech and promised to challenge the Interior Minister’s decision. Assange has two weeks to do this.

Not so long ago, the Westminster Magistrates Court in London issued an extradition order for Assange to the United States. At the same time, the final decision on extradition was to be made by the head of the British Home Office. The defense later filed a motion with Patel to block his extradition to the United States.

Julian Assange is world famous for his materials exposing the illegal actions of the United States during military operations in the Middle East.

Back in 2010, Assange was accused of rape and harassment in Sweden, but the case was closed nine years later.
