Yair Netanyahu banned from Facebook for 24 hours after his Sunday hate speech, in which the 27-year-old prime minister’s son said he would prefer all Muslims to leave Israel. FB believes such a behaviour clearly violates social media community standards, The Independent reports.
Benjamin Netanyahu’s son allowed himself to post the unacceptable thing on social media. On Sunday, Facebook had blocked him for 24 hours but said the company said it never removes posts for criticising the company and Netanyahu’s claim “that we are censoring criticism of the company on the platform is plainly untrue”.
The 27-year-old son of Israeli prime minister urged on his post last week for revenge against “those monsters” following the fatal shooting Palestinians and Israelis. He added he would prefer all Muslims to leave Israel, and after he got a brief ban from Facebook. Next day, Netanyahu included a screenshot of one of the removed posts in which he wrote: “The thought police of the radical progressives at Facebook have reached me as well!”
Despite Yair’s attempts to be a patriot and wise person, Netanyahu’s critics all the time attack him for living in his father’s residence and having a driver, bodyguard despite not having any official government role.
Facebook spokesperson underlined that the hate speech clearly violates the company’s community standards. “Due to that, this content was removed from our platform, as we would do for anyone posting similar content about any protected characteristic. Following this, Yair Netanyahu decided to share a screen shot of a removed post and called people to share it – which is the same as writing the hate speech all over again.”
