Jennifer Connelly is going to play a single mother who runs a local bar near the Navy base where Tom Cruise’s character tutors pilots if the actress will sign on, SkyNews reported.
Top Gun: Maverick’s cast is getting hotter month by month, Jennifer Connely will probably take a role on it. The Oscar-winning actress will star alongside Tom Cruise for the sequel. while Ms Connelly will next be on the big screen in Alita: Battle Angel, due out on 26 December.
Jennifer’s role is understood, said sequel’s director Joe Kosinski. The actor Val Kilmer will also reprise his role of Tom “Iceman” Kazansky while Tom Cruise is reprising his role of fighter pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. Two weeks ago, another new addition to the film, Miles Teller, was announced.
Connely’s appearance on the set will be definitely bright, if she signs on, Maverick couldn’t stop by and start crooning You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling. So far, the director Joseph Kosinski will have the cameras rolling in September.
Tom Cruise is, of course, back as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, here we assume training a new generation of flyers in a world where drones are starting to take over some of their duties. Val Kilmer has also been confirmed as Iceman, but this would mark an even more emotional connection to the original as the death of Goose in Top Gun is one of its biggest plot turns. Whether this means Meg Ryan will be seen as the lad’s mother is still a mystery.
Top Gun Maverick with Jeniffer Connelly or without her will be definitely one of the most anticipated movies of the next year.
