Rodrigo Duterte said to all and every Philippines cop that they should kill the criminals if it is about policeman’s life. President promised to protect cops in such cases.
President Rodrigo Duterte in his recent statement has reiterated that policemen only have to perform their duties, even if it meant killing crime suspects during operations, to get his full backing. Otherwise, Philippines will never live in the law-abiding society. The crime should be punished, believes president Duterte.
“That’s our deal. When I said that you go and destroy the drug industry, destroying means destroying, including human life,”
the national leader said here during the turnover of 26 Montero SUV patrol cars to the Davao police on Monday.
According to Duterte, policemen who encountered problems in the performance of their duties should never worry as “I will take care of you.”
President stressed in his statement he also took care of the problems faced by policemen when he was mayor in Davao. He fully understands how problematic sometimes is to be a cop in the capital.
“Once you have problem in the fulfillment of duty or (if it is) duty-connected, you have no problem at all,’
President said.
The war on drugs in the Philippines is continuing despite the harsh criticism of Duterte’s action against the criminals. International community’s opinion is not on the side of Rodrigo Duterte but he doesn’t really matter, he has to fulfil his own presidential duties and to guarantee his people higher standards of living.
The president dismissed criticism over the thousands of people killed in the drug war as he said the Philippines had turned into a “narco-state”.
“You can go to hell, all of you!”
Duterte said in a speech, referring to human rights groups, Catholic bishops and priests who had urged an end to the killings. He added:
“I do not want Filipinos to be turned into fools during my time. You can do that at any other time but not during my time, during my watch.”
